Sutton Bank Road Closure – Monday 11th September for 1 week

North Yorkshire County Council will be carrying out essential annual maintenance works on Sutton Bank, which will result in a full road closure from Monday 11th September 2017 for one week, weather permitting.

Works include the annual inspection and maintenance of the rock face which will ensure that this strategic route remains in a structurally sound condition in the long term. We will also be closing Osgoodby Lane, south of the A170 and consequently there will be no access on or off the A170 at this junction for Osgoodby Lane residents.

During the closure of Sutton Bank, access to premises on the bank will be maintained whenever possible, however due to the nature of the works, there may be times when access will be restricted.

Diversion routes will be signed appropriately along the caravan route and every effort will be made to ensure the work is completed as soon as possible and that any disruption is kept to a minimum.

NYCC contractors will assist you where possible during the working periods and on-site personnel will be tasked with managing vehicle access. We request your assistance in the following ways:-

Please contact the Customer Resolution Centre on 01609 780780 to identify any special access needs you may have during the works period;

Co-operate and comply with any instructions issued by the traffic management operatives and take extra care whilst within the works area;

In order to ensure the works are completed as safely and quickly as possible it would be appreciated if residents could keep journeys to a minimum.
