Over £90,000 for ‘youth and adult play provision’ and call for volunteers for a youth club

Gary Housden of Ryedale District Council is attending the Annual Parish Meeting to discuss how the considerable sums of s106 monies from the 2 new housing developments in Ampleforth can be applied for and used by the village as the developments reach the trigger points (based on numbers of houses sold) for making the funds available.  The monies are for youth and adult play provision.

Lilly Allenby, Youth Development Worker for North Yorkshire Youth helps villages to set up youth clubs.  Three volunteers are needed.  She has set up nine Youth Clubs in the area and is currently setting up one in Helmsley which could be made available to Ampleforth residents for a while.

Maggie Farey of Rural Action Yorkshire will be attending to give advice on projects and volunteering.

The meeting is on Thursday 1 May at 6.30pm in the Village Hall and refreshments will be available afterwards.  It will be followed by the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council.

The Clerk for Ampleforth is now Mrs Louise Pink.
