Police Matters – New Ampleforth PC Andy Marsden

In February 2015 PC Andy Marsden, PC19 took over the responsibilities for the Safer Neighbourhood Policing in the Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside areas from PC Steve Leach who has now moved on to Malton. PC Marsden has worked in Ryedale for nearly 20 years, 5 of which were as community officer in Kirkbymoorside and 13 years as community officer for the Pickering area.

The 101 number can be used to either report a crime or to contact a PC or PCSO directly. You will need to enter the officers name or collar number when prompted to do so.

For any neighbourhood policing issues PC Marsden can be contacted by email on Andy.Marsden@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

During a recent open residents meeting with PC Marsden he advised that neighbourhood watch plays a very important job within villages and is especially important in this climate when police staff levels are at a low. If any residents would like to look into setting up a neighbourhood watch scheme PC Marsden would be happy to assist in this and can provide valuable help and assistance.

Report into Examination into the Ryedale Plan – Local Plan Strategy

The Planning Inspectorate issued the final report into the Local Plan Strategy (LPS) on Wednesday, 14 August 2013, following its submission in May 2012 and hearing sessions which took place in September and October 2012 and May 2013.

The Inspector has concluded that the LPS is sound, subject to the inclusion of a schedule of main modifications which is appended to his report. On this basis, the Inspector states that the LPS “provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the District to 2027”.

Ryedale District Council will  seek to adopt the LPS on the basis of the recommendations in the Inspector’s report at a Full Council meeting.
