Ampleforth Village Hall on Tuesday 13th March at 7-20pm – AGM followed by (film) Heritage Steam Railway footage which included Gilling East, Ampleforth and Coxwold stations – All welcome – admission £3.oo including refreshments.

WW1 Memorial Rose Garden

A rose garden is being designed at the entrance to  St. Hilda’s Church to commemorate the end of the First World War. The design is shown below. Donations towards setting up the garden are very welcome. Contact Sheila Harrison on 01439788279.


Alan Benett’s Talking Heads

Thursday 15thMarch at 7-30pm in Ampleforth Village Hall – The library theatre touring company presents Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads: A Lady of Letters and Bed among the Lentils.

There will be a short interval between the two acts and tickets cost £7 (to include an interval drink) – contact Lot on 01439 788198 or any other member of the Ampleforth village hall committee, to obtain/reserve tickets.

Gentle exercise class suitable for beginners and people returning to exercise suitable for all fitness levels.

Vibrant market of 30+ stalls, an eclectic mix from the finest food to titivate the tastebuds, to arts and crafts to inspire you. Including Locally reared meat, home baking and skilled patisserie, locally grown cut flowers, handmade chocolate, cheese, artisan bread, arts and crafts plus much more.

Stall holders: The Clucking Pig, High Farndale, Annabelle’s Farm Gate, Ali Bradley Pottery, Renaissance Cakes, Ryedale Cheeses, Nesfield & Piercy, White Cottage Catering Company and many more.

Ampleforth Village Market will take place behind The White Swan pub YO62 4DA. The White Swan was recently presented with the Welcome to Yorkshire Award for Yorkshire’s favourite pub!

The White Swan will also be serving tea/coffee and bacon sandwiches alongside the market.
